Schwabinger Tor
Munich, March 2010 – The Munich Real Estate Company Jost Hurler Beteiligungs- und Verwaltungsgesellschaft GmbH & Co. KG is developing a new centre in Schwabing. Up to now, a large retail store and a hotel have moved into the district, which extends from Schwabing’s hospital to the English Garden, acting like a barrier. In Schwabiger Tor an urban living space is being developed that does justice to the exclusivity of its address and abolishes the barriers separating it from the Berliner Straße residential area. It consists of four buildings along Leopoldstraße and another row of five buildings along the green area on Berliner Straße. Open spaces, squares and alleyways are created thanks to the staggered positioning of the buildings. This is possible because Jost Hurler Beteiligungs- und Verwaltungsgesellschaft together with the city of Munich will be positively enhancing this area and connecting it with the adjacent districts.

The Berliner Straße boulevard, the hidden squares in Altschwabing and the cultural urban significance of Leopoldstraße were given equal consideration in the proposal. Three highlights make reference to the city silhouette in the surrounding area and thus round off the overall image. Tramline 23, which went into operation recently, will also provide optimal connections for the new city district in infrastructure terms ... more to top
