MEZ Shopping Centre with DIY Store,
Wismar
In 1992, the MEZ became the first shopping centre to open in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. The attraction it possessed in those early days is as strong today as ever. Beneath its huge glass dome roof, the shopping centre is a cosy place to stroll and window-shop - without the stiff breeze that generally blows in the town. The MEZ offers plenty of space, short distances, light, air and a wide selection of shops, boutiques and service providers.
In addition to the varied range of articles on sale, shoppers also have the opportunity to take a break at the restaurant - almost beneath an open sky.
At the MEZ, customer proximity, that is, keeping in touch with the customer, also means keeping in touch with local traditions and the people of Wismar. This is what Josy stands for. She is an over 42-foot ship under full sail that serves as a sales stand and at the same time enlivens the space beneath the large dome.
